In Year Transfers

As a growing two form entry school we do still have some places in most of our year groups. This is a lucky position to be in as we are able to welcome new families to our school each year and to grow our FHC community. Last year 2022-23 we welcomed 17 new children into our team throughout our KS1 & KS2 teams. All have settled well, making friends and quickly becoming part of the team.

We run a buddy project to help children settle into their new class. This involves a small group of children taking responsibility for welcoming the new starter and ensuring that throughout their first days and weeks they have someone to play with, someone to show them where to go and what to do and also someone to talk to if they are feeling worried or a bit ‘school-sick’ for their old school.

Our children love having new people join the team and are always keen to include children both in school and at out of school activities eg: Cubs, Football, Dance. The aim is to help children feel a part of the team as soon as possible and we will work with you to help make the transition as smooth as we can.

School Visits

It is often a good idea to come and have a visit to the school. We find as parents/carers, you will quickly get a feel for the school and a sense of whether it is a good fit for your family. This is such an important factor in choosing a school for your child. children need to feel, safe and relaxed to be able to learn.
